About

My name is Steven Weckeman, although I’ve been known to respond to the aliases “Nino Fantastico”, “Cheval De Reve” and “Flash Thunderson”.  Originally from Queens, New York, I currently reside upstate in the scenic Hudson Valley.  I’ve travelled throughout the northeast, mid-western and north west portions of the United States,  as well as the Southern part of Quebec.  I’ve also lived in Chicago, Illinois and Pasco, Washington- never once turning down an opportunity to sample the regional delicacies each area has had to offer.  Not one to be a picky eater, my love affair with food goes back further than I can remember and I’ve been cooking ever since I was tall enough to reach the dials on the stove.

With a collection of recipes handed down through both sides of my family that goes back generations, imaginative and innovative dishes of my own design and some fantastic foods I’ve found along the way- I look forward to sharing these with people on a scale much wider than my usual circle of friends, acquaintances and family.  In part, as a creative and productive outlet for myself.  In another part, a way to contribute some sort of service to people whom may or may not have the same enthusiasm food for that I do- and if I can help someone out there cook a tasty meal, it’ll all be worth it.

  1. We seem to be made of the same stuff! Do your eyes get big when you discuss food with others? Do you find yourself leaning forward in your chair? Smiling really wide when you share an awesome recipe? I’ll enjoy reading your stuff.

  6. Hello Steven,

I am Noa Berger, VizEat’s Community Manager (http://bit.ly/Wf1vx3). We connect locals and travellers who’d like to discover a new culture with hosts who welcome them at their home around a meal.

Using VizEat is very easy and straightforward: hosts post their meal (this could also be an aperitif, brunch, wine & cheese, etc.) select a date & price, choose their guests and then share an authentic moment around a home cooked meal!

I love your blog and so would be delighted to discuss a potential partnership. There are numerous mutually beneficial opportunities that we can present to you.

Would you be available for a 10 minute chat so that I can give you more details about the partnership and what we are proposing?

We look forward to welcoming you on board!

    Kind regards,

    Noa Berger
    Community Manager
